REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. CHECK AND CASH FORMS OF PAYMENT WILL BE AVAILABLE THE DAY OF THE EVENT. WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US FOR THIS GREAT EVENT!

 

When: Sunday, May 6, 2012 (Rain or Shine)

5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 AM

1K Walk starts at 9:05 AM

Route:  5K Run will begin on the far side of the overflow parking lot. A lap around the upper lot will then take the race to the unnamed road that is behind the DoubleTree and Sam's Club. The run will continue straight past the STOP sign onto Berkmar Drive past the SPCA. The one mile mark is just before Woodbrook Rd. The race will continue to Greenfield Drive where it will turn off to the RIGHT. Runners will loop around the cul-de-sac to make this 5K adventure an out and back. Efforts will be made to upload a map representation of the route ASAP. The 1K Walk simply laps around the overflow parking lot around the vendor show.

 

 

***Vendor show available before and after the run/walk. A nominal fee of $5.00 will apply to all non-race participants.

 

Where: Doubletree Hotel Charlottesville, VA

                990 Hilton Heights Road

 

Why: To promote both canine and human health as well as benefit charitable organizations serving pets.

 

All well-behaved dogs are welcome at the event and in the run. Your dog must be on-leash at all times.

 

PLEASE NOTE: ALL DOGS MUST HAVE PROOF OF CURRENT RABIES VACCINATION.

BANFIELD CHARITABLE TRUST

Banfield Charitable Trust supports local pet related charities in the Charlottesville area.

Banfield Charitable Trust is a 501 (c)(3) public charity that focuses on keeping people and their pets together. We're deeply rooted in communities and neighborhoods across the country.

Since our inception in 2003, we've worked to provide assistance, support and hope to pets and families wherever they share their loving bond.

Our programs include:

* Pet Peace of Mind, a hospice support program to keep patients and pets together through the end of life.

* Pet food distribution grants for local Meals on Wheels Programs

* HOPE funds assist with urgent or emergency pet care

* Community grants for the local pet non-profits working together to keep pets and their families together. For this event 50% of proceeds will benefit the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA.
